We are seeking a passionate and skilled Student Learning Support Officer (Special Class) to join our team at Valley View Secondary School, located in Para Vista, South Australia. This contract position runs from 11 May 2026 to 13 December 2026 working 1:1 & 2:1 Supporting students with complex needs This role includes approximately 12 hours per week supporting a student in our Special Class who uses a wheelchair and AAC communication systems. In this part of the role, you will assist with safe hoist transfers and continence care, working collaboratively alongside two other SSOs. The remaining approximately 15 hours per week will involve supporting a Year 7 mainstream student with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs, as part of a 2:1 SSO team. This aspect of the role requires confidence in managing challenging behaviour using trauma-informed and positive behaviour approaches, as well as strong teamwork with your co-supporting SSO.
